Robert Frank
PersonalRobert Frank is a Swiss-American photographer and documentary filmmaker. Was born on the ninth of November in 1924, Zurich Switzerland. He is currently aged 93, and was the child of his mother and father.

HistoryFrank turned to photography to escape the business-oriented family, training with many photographers and graphic designers before publishing his first book called, ' 40 Fotos' in 1946. He moved to the US in 1947 and secured a job as a fashion photographer.

InspirationsThough he was initially optimistic about the United States' society and culture, Frank's perspective quickly changed as he confronted the fast pace of American life and what he saw as an overemphasis on money. He now saw America as an often bleak and lonely place, a perspective that became evident in his later photography

AwardsThe Hasselblad Foundation International Award in Photography is an award granted to "a photographer recognized for major achievements", granted to Frank in 1996.
