Shoot One - Practicing the Basics
After a lot of drama trying to get my original idea to work, I decided to change my idea as time was moving on fast and I couldn't even be 100% certain that I was going to be able to get the photos taken.
I used the studio for my first shoot, I knew what effect I wanted to achieve; although I had no idea how I was going to achieve this or what this would be called. After messing around with the lighting and the backdrop I finally got the effect I was looking for.
From all of the photos I took the ones which appeared most natural gave the greatest effect as the shadows from the body movement were sharp and this created a contrast with the brighter exposure on the subject.

I also attempted to take a number of group shots, however because of the direction of the light and the fact there were multiple subjects the images were hard to take and had lesser impact than the individual portraits.
|
Although I felt that the photos taken with multiple subjects were not as successful as those taken individually, the posture mixed with the lighting in this shot creates a somewhat eerie atmosphere around the photo.

As a result of how natural the body was when this image was being taken, this photo is particularly interesting as the lighting coming from the right side and the shot being centered created a range of beautiful shadows which blend with the background and contrast with the highlights on the subject.
